Heavy Rain Brings Delhi-NCR to Halt

Heavy rain on Friday morning caused major problems across Delhi-NCR, flooding roads and disrupting daily life. The downpour turned streets into rivers, leading to severe traffic jams and leaving many vehicles stranded.

From early morning, key roads like Anuvrat Marg and the Dhaula Kuan flyover were heavily congested, with thousands of vehicles stuck due to rising water levels. Commuters were trapped in many parts of the city, creating widespread chaos. In Noida, the rain caused severe flooding, with streets in Madhu Vihar submerged up to car windows.

Aurobindo Marg was also severely affected, with large parts of the road underwater. This caused major traffic problems, leaving vehicles stuck and forcing pedestrians to wade through knee-deep water. The flooding stretched from Aurobindo Road to the IIT flyover in south Delhi, making travel very difficult.

The Delhi Traffic Police and other authorities are working hard to manage the situation. Traffic was rerouted from the worst-hit areas, and people were advised to avoid unnecessary travel. Despite these efforts, the heavy water flow made it hard to keep traffic moving smoothly.

Metro services were also disrupted. The Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector-25 Metro station had to close its entry and exit points, and the shuttle service between Delhi Aerocity Metro station and Terminal 1-IGI Airport was temporarily stopped. Passengers at Saket metro station faced difficulties as the area around the station was flooded, forcing them to wade through water to reach their destinations.

Despite the efforts by authorities to manage the impact, the heavy rain continues to pose significant challenges for commuters and residents across Delhi-NCR. The situation remains tough, and people are being urged to stay indoors and avoid travel unless absolutely necessary.
