Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Assures Farmers: No Shortage of DAP Fertilizer

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini reassured farmers that there is no shortage of di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizer in the state. Responding to concerns about a possible shortage, he dismissed these as a “narrative” built around fertilizer scarcity, affirming that both DAP and urea supplies are adequate. “I would like to tell Haryana’s farmers there is no need to panic; everything will be provided to you,” he stated.

Praise for Haryana’s Stubble Management

Highlighting Haryana’s agricultural efforts, Saini noted the state’s achievements in stubble management, mentioning the Supreme Court’s acknowledgment of the state’s measures last year. He contrasted Haryana’s approach to that of Punjab, claiming that Punjab’s administration had not made similar efforts toward improving the agricultural system.

In Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann recently met with Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, JP Nadda, on October 27 to discuss DAP requirements for the current season. Mann emphasized the critical need for DAP supplies to support Punjab’s farmers. Nadda responded with assurances of the Centre’s commitment to ensuring an adequate supply of DAP in Punjab.

Centre’s Efforts to Meet Demand

Union Minister Nadda affirmed that the central government is coordinating closely with fertilizer companies to meet Punjab’s requirements. Underlining Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on farmer welfare, Nadda emphasized that uninterrupted DAP availability for Punjab’s farmers is a top priority. “Ensuring farmers’ satisfaction is paramount, and all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure timely fertilizer supplies,” he added.
