India launches the 4th ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign ahead of Independence Day 2025, urging citizens to hoist the Tricolour.

India is gearing up to celebrate its 79th Independence Day on August 15, 2025, with the launch of the fourth edition of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. The initiative began on August 2 and will run until August 15, urging citizens across the country to proudly hoist the national flag at their homes.

The campaign started in 2022 under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative. Since then, it has grown into a nationwide movement, uniting millions in their shared pride for the Tricolour.

Strengthening the Bond with the National Flag

The goal of "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign is to strengthenIndians' emotional bond with their flag. Every year, people participate by putting the Tiranga on display in public areas, workplaces, and homes.

This year’s edition calls on citizens to become ambassadors of the campaign. Participants can share their Tiranga selfies online and earn badges and certificates from the Ministry of Culture. Those who upload the maximum number of photos will be honoured at State and National functions.

How to Participate and Register

Citizens can join the Independence Day programme by registering on the official Har Ghar Tiranga portal – harghartiranga.com.

Steps for registration:

  • Fill out the Volunteer Registration Form on the portal.
  • Provide accurate location details for local task assignments.
  • Receive task briefs starting August 2 via registered contact.
  • Upload your Tiranga selfie on the portal.
  • Earn a certificate as an ambassador after completing the campaign.

Building the Spirit of the Tiranga

The Ministry of Culture has invited people from all walks of life to share their participation online. This year’s campaign is not only about hoisting the flag but also about spreading its message far and wide.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the campaign’s reach and impact. Responding to posts from the Ministry of Culture on social media platform X, the PM said:

His message highlights how the campaign has become a symbol of unity, pride, and national identity.

The Har Ghar Tiranga 2025 campaign is a celebration of India's diversity and freedom, not just a token gesture. Millions are anticipate to take part in campaign, which is expected to once again paint the country in the vivid colors of the tricolor.
