In a significant development, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested three individuals accused of llegedly plotting terror attacks throughout India. The detainees, Dr. Ahmed Mohiuddin Syed, Mohd Suhel, and Azad Suleman Saifi, were captured while attempting to deliver firearms near the Adalaj Toll Plaza in Gujarat. Officials claim that the operation effectively prevented a terror plot targeting multiple cities across the country.
Details of the Arrests
According to Gujarat ATS DIG Sunil Joshi, the suspects had been closely monitored by the ATS team for nearly a year. Investigators received information suggesting that Dr. Ahmed Mohiuddin, a 35-year-old resident of Hyderabad, was engaged in extremist undertakings and planning to go to Ahmedabad.
In response to this intelligence, ATS officials tracked his movements and intercepted him near the toll plaza. During the operation, officers seized two Glock pistols, a Beretta pistol, 30 live rounds, and four litres of castor oil a crucial substance used in the production of the lethal poison ‘Ricin.’
Authorities disclosed that Dr. Mohiuddin, who obtained his MBBS from China, was attempting to manufacture Ricin as part of a broader terror agenda.

Links to ISIS
DIG Joshi mentioned that preliminary investigations indicate Dr. Mohiuddin was communicating with a Telegram user named Abu Khadeja, who is suspected to be associated with the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP). “He aimed to carry out a terrorist act that would inflict significant damage,” Joshi stated, noting that the accused had direct connections with foreign handlers.
The other two suspects, Azad Suleman Sheikh and Mohd Suhel Salim Khan, hail from Lakhimpur and Shamli districts in Uttar Pradesh. Both have undergone religious training and were reportedly radicalized through extremist influences.
Investigators found that the pair had conducted surveillance in crowded areas of Lucknow, Delhi, and Ahmedabad, and had been seen in Kashmir, implying broader coordination.
Weapons Supply Chain and Investigation
The inquiry also revealed that the suspects from Uttar Pradesh received a shipment of weapons from Hanumangarh, Rajasthan, which they subsequently transported to Kalol, Gujarat. Following this trail, the ATS located them in the Banaskantha district, where they were taken into custody.
One suspect has been remanded to custody until November 17, while the other two are expected to appear in court shortly. The Gujarat ATS is continuing its investigation into potential international connections, communication methods, and additional associates linked to the conspiracy.
