Govt transfers 22 police officials ahead of local body elections

Punjab government on Wednesday transferred 22 police officials in anticipation of the upcoming local body elections and the imposition of the model code of conduct. Among the key appointments, ADGP SPS Parmar, who previously led the Special Investigation Team probing the sacrilege incidents in Punjab, has been assigned the position of ADGP Law and Order.In another significant move, IG Gurpreet Singh Bhullar has been reinstated as Commissioner of Police (CP), Amritsar. Bhullar had been transferred to the state police headquarters after the Lok Sabha elections in June this year.
Dhanpreet Kaur has been appointed as IG-Ludhiana Range, while Mandeep Singh Sidhu, who previously served as CP-Ludhiana and SSP Sangrur, will now take charge as DIG Patiala Range. Ranjit Singh Dhillon has been posted as DIG Ferozepur Range, and Harcharan Singh Bhulla as DIG Bathinda.
