"Govt employees turned into TDP Cadre for Mahanadu," says YSRCP's Nalamaru Reddy

Tadepalli (Andhra Pradesh) [India], May 30 (ANI): YSRCP State Employees and Pensioners Wing President Nalamaru Chandrasekhar Reddy strongly criticised the coalition government for allegedly using government employees for the TDP’s Mahanadu event while failing to fulfil promises made to employees and pensioners.

Pensioners Wing President Reddy questioned the ethics of such mobilisation, asking “why government staff were being mobilised, made to attend party programs, and seated wearing party scarves, asking whether they were government servants or political activists.”

According to an official release, Reddy highlighted the growing frustration among staff, and alleged that the government was misusing official machinery and public institutions for partisan political activities and pointed out that similar incidents had occurred during previous Mahanadu events.

Chandrasekhar Reddy said, “Employees are expected to function under service rules and should not be drawn into political programs, warning that such practices undermine administrative neutrality.”

Criticising the government’s priorities, Reddy accused the government of betraying employees by failing to implement key promises, including Interim Relief (IR), a new Pay Revision Commission (PRC), payment of pending Dearness Allowances (DAs), and clearance of long-pending dues. According to him, employee-related arrears, including GPF liabilities, have crossed ₹40,000 crore. He also raised concerns over the non-regularisation of contract employees, delays in employee health scheme payments, and the continued neglect of CPS employees.

Reddy expressed deep concern over the current work environment, and alleged that Village and Ward Secretariat staff are being subjected to excessive workloads without clear job responsibilities and criticised the government for treating employees unfairly while expecting unquestioned service. He contrasted the present government’s approach with the previous YSRCP administration, highlighting the merger of APSRTC employees into government service under former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

He further accused the coalition government of pursuing privatisation policies, including attempts to reverse benefits extended to RTC employees, and warned against further privatisation of public sector institutions. He demanded that the government stop using employees for political activities, honour its commitments, clear pending dues, and ensure that government staff are allowed to work strictly in accordance with service rules.

Meanwhile, YSRCP spokesperson Naga Malleswari strongly criticised the TDP Mahanadu and called it a ‘desperate political drama’ aimed at diverting public attention from the alleged “Mega District Selection Committee (DSC) scam” and the growing public anger against the coalition government.

According to the Ysrcp State Office, Naga Malleswari alleged that after two years in power, the Chandrababu Naidu government has no development, welfare achievements, or governance success to showcase, and therefore converted Mahanadu into a platform for abuse, diversion politics, and character assassination against Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and YSRCP. (ANI)
