A shocking case of violence against a migrant worker has surfaced in Tamil Nadu’s Thiruvallur district, after a disturbing video showed a man being brutally attacked with machetes. The incident has triggered public anger after the attackers themselves recorded and shared the assault.

The victim, a migrant labourer from Madhya Pradesh, is fighting for his life in the hospital. Police have launched an investigation after the video went viral on social media platforms.

Who Is the Victim?

The injured man has been identified as Siraj, who had travelled to Tamil Nadu for work. He was alone when the attack began. Siraj suffered deep injuries and lost a large amount of blood. Doctors have described his condition as critical.

Hospital staff continue to monitor him closely as authorities try to piece together what led to the assault.

Attack Began on a Moving Train

Initial details suggest the violence started while Siraj was travelling on a moving train. Four minors allegedly confronted him during the journey. They threatened him with machetes while recording a video on a mobile phone.

What began as intimidation soon turned into extreme violence.

Assault Near Railway Station Caught on Camera

The attackers later forced Siraj off the train and took him to a secluded area near a railway station. There, they repeatedly attacked him with machetes.

The entire assault was recorded on a phone. One of the videos even shows an attacker flashing a victory sign after the act. The visuals reveal the brutal nature of the crime and have shocked viewers online.

Viral Video Sparks Public Anger

The video spread rapidly on social media, triggering widespread outrage. Many users condemned the violence and demanded strict action. Several posts also raised concerns over the safety of migrant workers in the state.

Human rights groups and labour activists have called for accountability and better protection for workers travelling alone.

Police took suo motu cognisance after the video surfaced. Officers have identified the suspects as minors and are working to trace their movements before and after the attack.

Investigators are examining the video footage, tracking phone data, and questioning witnesses. Authorities said more details would be shared once the probe advances.

Concerns Over Migrant Worker Safety

The incident has once again raised questions about the safety of migrant labourers, especially those travelling across states for work. Many workers depend on public transport and often remain vulnerable during long journeys.

Officials have urged the public not to circulate the violent video further, saying it could hamper the investigation and cause distress.

The attack has highlighted a disturbing pattern of violence caught on camera and shared online. As Siraj battles for his life, calls for justice and stronger safeguards for migrant workers continue to grow.
