Four Indian Army Personnel Killed in Road Accident on Silk Route in Sikkim

In a tragic road accident today, four Indian Army personnel lost their lives while commuting from Pedong in West Bengal to Zuluk along the Silk Route in Pakyong district, Sikkim. The incident took place when their vehicle met with an accident along the treacherous route.

The deceased soldiers have been identified as driver Pradeep Patel from Madhya Pradesh, craftsman W. Peter from Manipur, Naik Gursev Singh from Haryana, and Subedar K. Thangapandi from Tamil Nadu. All four personnel were part of a unit stationed in Binaguri, West Bengal, according to Indian Army officials.

The Army is investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. The Silk Route is known for its challenging terrain, and accidents in the region are not uncommon. The loss of the soldiers has cast a pall of sorrow over their respective communities and the Army.
