Amidst the rampant forest fires plaguing Uttarakhand, a petitioner has urged the Supreme Court for the urgent listing of the matter.
In response, the top court has said that it will consider listing the matter and has further asked the advocates to send an email. As informed by the advocate, that the forest fires petitions are pending in the courts for the last three years.
This development comes amidst the time, when the recent incidents of fresh forest fires have broken out in Uttarakhand. Especially in places like Rudraprayag, Pauri Garhwal and Nainital. As a result, almost 33.34 hectares of land has been destroyed.
As per the state forest department, this forest-fire is a man-made disaster. According to the authorities, forest officials of Rudraprayag have already identified the three miscreants and have reportedly arrested them.
To further control the fire, both Indian army and IAF were deployed in Nainital and other affected places. Where they conducted the operation Bambi Bucket- release of the water over the affected regions from the top on Saturday.
As per the officials, the blazing fire has been brought under the control.
