A forensic report has revealed that there were no signs of struggle or resistance at the crime scene in the seminar hall of Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital, where a trainee doctor was raped and murdered. The report, accessed by India Today, was submitted by the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) to the CBI on September 11.
The body of the trainee doctor was discovered on August 9, sparking widespread outrage and protests from healthcare professionals. The CBI has filed a charge sheet against the prime accused, Sanjay Roy, a civic volunteer with the Kolkata Police.
CFSL experts examined the hospital premises on August 14 and collected samples from the crime scene, including the wooden stage mattress where the doctor was allegedly assaulted. The report noted that the cut marks on the mattress aligned with the victim’s head and lower abdomen areas. However, the report confirmed that there was no evidence of a struggle or fight between the victim and the assailant in the seminar hall.
