FM Sitharaman to present centre’s financial proposals bill in Parliament today

FM Sitharaman to present centre’s financial proposals bill in Parliament today

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Finance (No.2) Bill, 2024, in Parliament for consideration. This bill aims to implement the central government’s financial proposals for the 2024-25 fiscal year.

Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh) is set to address the Lok Sabha, providing an update on the implementation of recommendations from the 70th report by the standing committee on Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Food Processing. The report focuses on ‘Employment Generation and Revenue Earning Potential of Fisheries Sector’ concerning the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying.

SP Singh Baghel will deliver statements in both Houses of Parliament regarding the status of recommendations from the 31st report by the standing committee on Rural Development and Panchayati Raj. This report pertains to the demands for grants (2023-2024) for the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.

Union Minister Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya will make a statement on the implementation status of recommendations from the 20th report by the department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution, focusing on ‘Quality Control Cells (QCCs).’

Several Union Ministers, including Virendra Kumar, Jitin Prasada, Ramdas Athawale, Ram Nath Thakur, Nityanand Rai, Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, SP Singh Baghel, and Bhagirath Choudhary, will table papers in the Lok Sabha. In the Rajya Sabha, Union Ministers Prataprao Jadhav, Pankaj Chaudhary, Anupriya Patel, BL Verma, Shantanu Thakur, and Harsh Malhotra will also lay papers for their respective ministries.

The Rajya Sabha will continue the discussion on the working of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, initiated by TMC MP Derek O’Brien on Monday. Additionally, DMK MP Tiruchi Siva is expected to raise discussions on the working of the Ministry of Cooperation in the Rajya Sabha.

These discussions and presentations form part of the ongoing efforts to address various sectoral and administrative issues, ensuring that the recommendations and proposals are effectively implemented and monitored. The activities in both Houses of Parliament reflect the government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and progress in various domains.
