Fire At Siliguri Municipal Corporation’s Trade License Department

A destructive blaze erupted within the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC), causing extensive harm to records owned by various city entrepreneurs.

According to reports, a sudden fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon in the trade license department of the SMC. Soon after, the Municipal Corporation premises became engulfed in smoke. Initially, employees attempted to control the fire themselves, but realizing its severity, they promptly contacted the fire department. Three fire brigade vehicles arrived quickly, and firefighters began extinguishing the flames.

Despite challenges posed by thick smoke, firefighters entered the building with oxygen masks and successfully put out the blaze. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Upon learning of the incident, the mayor, deputy mayor, and other corporation employees rushed to the scene to assess and provide assistance.
