A police complaint has been registered in relation to the collapse of a two-room structure, which was part of a dargah near Humayun’s Tomb complex. The identities of the suspects are still unknown.
FIR Registered in Collapse Causing Six Fatalities
A First Information Report, filed in the Hazrat Nizzamudin police station, against unknown people accuses them of negligent conduct and death, endangering lives and causing death by negligence under sections 290,125 and 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The incident that occurred on Friday evening claimed six lives—three men and three women— and also caused four people to sustain injuries. The collapse happened at the Dargah Sharif Patte Shah located in the Humayun’s Tomb Complex.

The Injured are Undergoing Treatment
The police have shared the names of the people who lost their lives in the collapse—Moinuddin, Anita Saini, Swaroop Chand (79), Meena Arora, Monu Arora and Arif. The four injured— Mohammad Shameem, Aryan, Gudiya, and Rafat Parveen— are currently admitted at AIIMS Trauma Centre, Lok Nayak Hospital and Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

The Rescue Operation that Saved Lives
Rescue operations to save the people trapped in the debris required efforts from the police, the Delhi Fire Services, the National Disaster Response Force and the Delhi Disaster Management Authority.
In total, 12 people were pulled out of the debris from the collapse that claimed six lives and left multiple people injured.
The affected Dargah Sharif Patte Shah was adjacent to Humayun’s Tomb; its collapse caused a lot of damage in and around the structure. However, the UNESCO World Heritage Site did not receive any damage.
Talking to ANI, Saurabh Bhardwaj, President of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi, said that he was informed by the people that the collapse was the result of heavy rainfall around 4 PM.
“People are saying that it was raining around 4 PM, and due to water accumulation nearby, the roof collapsed,” Saurabh told ANI.
