Investigation Takes new Dramatic Turn as  FIR has been lodged at Rohtak Sadar police station regarding the suspected suicide of Haryana Police personnel ASI Sandeep Kumar. Sources added that the complaint mentions four persons Sushil, gunman of IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar, Kumar's wife IAS officer P. Avneet Kaur, Bathinda Rural MLA Amit Ratna, and another unidentified person. The officials have so far not released the copy of the FIR given the ongoing investigation. The registration is a significant turning point in a case that has led to public outrage throughout Haryana.

Who is Amanneet P. Kumar?

Amanneet P. Kumar is wife of late IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar, She has been an IAS officer of the Haryana cadre. She is the Commissioner and Secretary of the Department of Foreign Cooperation. She is currently posted in Haryana. IAS officer Amanneet P. Kumar has had responsibility over work at a few major departments in the past, including Health, Finance, and Industrial Development. She has Master's degree in History from Punjab University and PhD in Health Economics from IIT Madras.

What Did ASI Sandeep Kumar Accuse in His Suicide Note?

ASI Sandeep Kumar who was probing charges of corruption against Puran Kumar reportedly shot himself on October 14. In his last note and video message, he implicated Puran Kumar and his family in bribery, extortion, and sexual harassment of women officers, also accusing them of abusing the identity of caste to blackmail the system.

ASI Sandeep Kumar's post-mortem will take place at 8 am on Thursday, after which he will be cremated at 12 noon at Rohtak.

Why the Haryana Police Suicide Case Has Triggered Controversy

The incident has attracted national attention after the consecutive suicides of two top police officers IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar and ASI Sandeep Kumar. Charges of caste-based discrimination, corruption, illegal detention, and extortion within the Haryana Police have added fuel to the fire.

IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar died allegedly by suicide after accusing senior officials of casteism and harassment. He had also accused eight IPS officers in his suicide note of character assassination and institutional targeting.

September 29: IPS officer Puran Kumar suddenly transferred from IG (Rohtak Range) to Sunaria Training College.

October 1: Puran's gunman Sushil picked up by police team under ASI Kumar, purportedly without warrant or FIR.

October 1–5: Sushil kept in illegal detention and coerced into making false statements.

October 6: Case of corruption lodged against Sushil for allegedly extorting ₹2.5 lakh bribe.

October 7: IPS officer Puran Kumar reportedly shoots himself at his Chandigarh home.

October 8: His wife, IAS officer Avneet Kaur, submits complaint but insists on arrests prior to post-mortem.

October 14: ASI Sandeep Kumar commits suicide close to Rohtak-Panipat road.

Laptop Scandal Brings New Twist in IPS Puran Kumar Suicide Case

The SIT sought Puran Kumar's official laptop for forensic investigation. His wife, Avneet Kaur, handed over access but subsequently complained that investigators were spinning the story despite her complete cooperation.

This case is continuing to shake Haryana Police, raising fundamental questions about internal accountability, abuse of power, and caste politics within the police force.
