Farooq Abdullah urges peace amid Middle East tensions

Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday urged global powers to prevent the outbreak of a third World War, citing the ongoing conflicts and loss of life. Speaking about the humanitarian crisis, Abdullah expressed concern over the deteriorating global situation.
“I hope the big powers of the world will ensure that there is no World War III. People are dying on both sides. Humanity is dead. The Russia-Ukraine war is also still ongoing. May God bring back humanity,” Abdullah said, stressing the need for immediate efforts toward peace and stability.

Turning to the upcoming Jammu & Kashmir Assembly elections, the former Chief Minister expressed confidence in his party’s prospects, stating that the Congress-National Conference alliance would secure victory and form the next government in the region. “We are confident that the Congress-NC alliance will win the elections and work towards a better future for Jammu and Kashmir,” Abdullah asserted.
The escalating situation in the Middle East intensified after Iran launched nearly 200 ballistic missiles towards Israel.
In response, the United States military closely coordinated with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to defend against the attack. Abdullah’s call for peace comes as global attention shifts to these developments, raising concerns about further instability in the region.
