12 May Jammu and Kashmir [India] National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah said on Friday that the more powerful Pakistan remains, the better it is for India in response to the continuing civil turmoil in neighbouring Pakistan as a result of the arrest of former Pakistani prime minister Nawaz Sharif in a corruption case.
The former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir claimed, “Pakistan is a separate country,” in an interview with media on Friday. Their work is what they do. All we want is for Pakistan to remain powerful.

The stronger Pakistan remains, the better it is for India.” Meanwhile, earlier in the day, ihe Islamabad High Court barred authorities from arresting PTI chairman Imran Khan in cases, including those that are undisclosed, until Monday, May 15, Dawn reported. The court also granted protective bail to the former prime minister in three terrorism cases registered against him in Lahore and the Zille Shah murder case.
The decision was made one day after the Supreme Court deemed his arrest “invalid and unlawful”. Additionally, it prevented police from detaining the PTI leader after May 9 in any case filed in Islamabad until May 17.
On Tuesday, Pakistan Rangers detained Imran Khan outside the Islamabad High Court based on a warrant issued in the Al-Qadir Trust case by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). While Imran was present, the Pakistan Rangers broke through the windows of the biometrics room. They entered through the windows and took the former PM into custody.
The former prime minister was then pulled from Islamabad High Court and placed inside an armoured car that was waiting.
The PTI employees erupted in protest following his arrest against both the government and the army. The authorities put an end to the protests with a crackdown.
