A team of doctors, led by Dr. Avtar Singh Dhillon, expressed concern about Dallewal’s fluctuating vitals, noting that his condition worsened during the address. Former DIG Narinder Bhargav, involved in backchannel talks with Dallewal, rushed to Khanauri upon receiving the news, and a health department team was placed on standby.
Before the event, Dallewal underwent medical tests, including blood, urine, and ECG, which confirmed his vitals were stable. He was then brought to the stage in an ambulance to deliver his address, during which he appealed to farmer organizations across the country to join the fight for MSP, asserting that it was not Punjab’s struggle alone.
“This is a do-or-die battle. I will not end my fast till an Act guaranteeing MSP is enacted as per the recommendations of the parliamentary committee on agriculture,” Dallewal declared from a bed inside a makeshift cubicle on the stage.
To safeguard Dallewal, he is being kept in a heavily guarded glass cubicle surrounded by over 100 tractor-trailers welded together and 700 volunteers. This precaution follows a November 26 incident where police forcibly took him to a hospital in Ludhiana.
The Kisan Mahapanchayat, organized by the SKM (Non-political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, marked the fourth major farmer gathering in less than a month, underscoring the intensifying agitation for MSP.
