External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar talks about the importance of the India-Mauritius partnership at agalgea in his address at Mauritius’s Port Louis.
Talking about the importance of India-mauritius partnership projects like Agalega, Dr S Jaishankar said ‘Our partnership on a project like Agalega is so important that we are today helping each other. We are helping the region. We are doing good for the world. And I want to say that our partnership today is contributing to- the well-being of Mauritius, to connectivity within Mauritius, to the prosperity of Mauritius. Earlier, external affairs minister S Jaishankar reiterated India’s ongoing and steadfast support for Mauritius in their pursuit for development and expressed pride in being island’s country partner in their journey towards modernity.
Moreover, India backed Mauritius on issue of Chagos Archipelago, which refers to a group of seven atolls which also include Diego Garcia Island.
Meanwhile, Dr S Jaishankar is on two-day visit to island country Mauritius, which is one of the first countries, that he is visiting as External affairs minister in his current term.
