The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP)-led Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) conducted a ‘DUSU in Campus’ campaign from February 20 to February 26 to understand and resolve the problems of the students of Delhi University.
Under this campaign, the DUSU office bearers – President Tushar Dedha, Secretary Aparajita, Joint Secretary Sachin Baisla – visited a total of 37 colleges in the north and south campuses of Delhi University, including Hindu College, Hansraj College, Kirori Mal College, Ramjas College, Shivaji College, Rajdhani College, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, College for Vocational Studies, etc., and met more than 50,000 students.
They interacted with the students, learned about their problems, and resolved issues ranging from classrooms to canteens, studies to sports, by submitting memorandums to the principals of different colleges. Additionally, they demanded that colleges feature walls focused on India’s brave sons in their libraries, in line with the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav year—a request made by the DUSU office bearers to the college administration.
DUSU President Tushar Dedha stated that the objective of the ‘DUSU on Campus’ campaign was to address the problems of students on their college campuses. He emphasised that students were also made aware of campus activism.
Over the last five days, they interacted with students from various colleges, learned about their problems, and resolved them by submitting memorandums to the principals of different colleges based on the specific issues identified.
