Do Whatever You Have to Do for Appeasement: Amit Shah Slams Rahul Gandhi

In a no-holds-barred attack on the Congress, Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused the party of seeking to reinstate the Muslim Personal Law as a means of furthering its appeasement politics. He emphasized that the BJP would vigorously resist any efforts by the Congress to fulfill its hidden agendas.

Addressing a public gathering in Guna, Madhya Pradesh, on Friday, Shah reiterated the BJP’s unwavering commitment to implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) across the nation. He emphasized that the UCC would ensure equality and justice for all citizens, irrespective of their religious affiliations.

“If you’ve taken the time to scrutinize the Congress’ manifesto, you’ll find they’re advocating for the reinstatement of the Muslim Personal Law. They’re pushing for its return. Can we now expect the country to operate under Sharia law? Rahul Baba, go ahead with your appeasement strategies. But as long as the BJP remains in power, we’ll vehemently oppose the revival of personal laws,” declared the Union Home Minister.

“In this nation, the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will be the guiding principle, ensuring the preservation of our constitutional values. We’ve already implemented the UCC in Uttarakhand, and Narendra Modi has pledged its nationwide implementation if the BJP secures another term in office,” Shah affirmed.

Extolling Prime Minister Modi’s decade-long tenure marked by developmental initiatives, the Union Home Minister lauded Modi’s achievements as nothing short of historic and transformative.

“Modi-ji has effectively curbed cross-border terrorism and successfully eradicated Naxalism from the country. He’s also significantly reduced the threat of Naxal insurgency in Madhya Pradesh. His focus has been on inclusive development, particularly benefiting marginalized communities like Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs), aiming to propel the nation forward. Conversely, the Congress espouses policies claiming that Muslims should receive primary access to the nation’s resources. However, we’re determined not to let their agenda prevail,” Shah asserted.

As of 11 am during the Phase 2 polling for the Lok Sabha elections, Madhya Pradesh has reported a voter turnout of 28.15%, according to data released by the Election Commission (EC).

Voting commenced at 7 am for the six parliamentary constituencies in the state, namely Tikamgarh (SC), Damoh, Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa, and Hoshangabad, as part of the second phase.

Phase 2 of polling encompasses 88 seats spread across 13 states and Union Territories.

Initially, 89 constituencies were slated for polling in the second phase. However, the EC later announced the postponement of polling in the Betul Lok Sabha constituency in Madhya Pradesh following the demise of a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate.
