The Delhi Police made a shocking revelation when they announced that the acid attack on a 19-year-old college girl near Ashok Vihar was actually staged. Official sources confirm that the girl fabricated the attack under her father’s pressure as part of a revenge plan over a rape and blackmail complaint.

False Allegation Exposed in Delhi Acid Attack Case

The 19-year-old Delhi University Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board student in her second year, pursuing a B.Com, had previously accused three men of attacking her with acid when returning to college to attend an extra class. Jitender and two brothers, Ishan and Arman who are said to be relatives were accused by her.

On October 26, the student was admitted to RML Hospital with burns on her hands. DCP (Northwest) Bhisham Singh first reported that one of the suspected attackers had been “stalking her for months.” However, during the investigation, police discovered serious inconsistencies in her statement and verified that Jitender was not even close to the reported crime scene at that time.

Investigation Uncovers Conspiracy in Delhi Acid Attack Case

Police investigations later revealed the actual tale of the case. The student’s father, Aqeel Khan, confessed that he and his daughter had faked the acid attack for falsely accusing Jitender and his kin. Khan’s wife had recently registered a rape and blackmail case against him, and hence, in his attempt to take revenge, he conspired with his daughter to frame them in a fake acid attack case.

As per the researchers, the woman hurt herself with toilet cleaner from her house to give the attack a touch of reality. Delhi Police has now resolved to prosecute the woman and her father under applicable sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) on charges of giving a false case and misleading the authorities.

Background of the Dispute in Delhi Acid Attack Case

Two days prior to the suspected acid attack, on October 24, Jitender’s wife filed a complaint with the police against Aqeel Khan for rape and blackmail. She said she used to work in Khan’s factory from 2021 to 2024, when he allegedly harassed her and blackmailed her by threatening to show her private videos and pictures.

In addition to this, further inquiry showed that the other two accused, Ishan and Arman, were present with their mother in Agra during the period of the suspected attack—establishing their innocence.

CCTV Evidence Recovered In Delhi Acid Attack Case

Police scanned CCTV footage in which the student can be seen riding with her brother on a two-wheeler from her home before she was dropped off in Ashok Vihar area, where she got into an e-rickshaw. None of the three accused men were visible in the footage.

Past Incidents Linked with Delhi Acid Attack Case

Adding one more twist to the story, police indicated the young woman herself had been a victim of an acid attack in 2018 and was at present embroiled in a property dispute with the same family she falsely accused on this occasion.

Legal Action Taken in Delhi Acid Attack Case

Delhi Police are getting ready to issue charges publicly against the student and her father on charges of orchestrating a fake crime, misusing police time, and trying to defame people. The case has also facing criticism widely on social media regarding the penalty of false accusations and the need for proper investigation prior to the publicizing of sensitive allegations. “Woman and father have been found to have conspired to make up acid attack tale. Legal action is being taken,” confirmed a senior police officer.
