Delhi Woman Files Complaints Over AAP’s ‘Mahila Samman Yojana’

A woman in South Delhi has filed a police complaint against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing the party of cheating through its ‘Mahila Samman Yojana’ scheme. The complaint, lodged on Tuesday, alleges that the promise of providing INR 2,100 monthly payments to women if the party is re-elected in the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls is misleading.

BJP Criticizes AAP’s Poll Promise and Calls for Action

BJP Member of Parliament from South Delhi, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, has criticized the Mahila Samman Yojana, accusing AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal of deceiving the public with unfulfilled promises such as the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana. He has called for action against Kejriwal, claiming the scheme is a tactic to mislead voters ahead of the February elections.

Controversy Surrounds Registration Numbers and Scheme Legitimacy

AAP has claimed that 2.2 million women have registered for the Mahila Samman Yojana, but reports have emerged questioning the authenticity of these numbers. Two Delhi government departments have denied the existence of the schemes, raising concerns over their legitimacy. Despite the doubts, Kejriwal has reaffirmed that the promised INR 2,100 monthly payment will be implemented if AAP wins the elections. Meanwhile, the BJP dismissed the registration numbers, with spokesperson Nyoma Gupta calling the claim “laughable” and suggesting AAP should have claimed 25 lakh registrations, given the absence of a computerized system.
