Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory for Dr. Manmohan Singh’s state funeral on Saturday. The advisory highlights traffic restrictions and diversions in key areas of New Delhi. Therefore, the public is urged to avoid certain roads and use public transport to minimize congestion.
Traffic Diversions and Restrictions
The advisory highlights several diversion points, including Raja Ram Kohli Marg, Rajghat Red Light, Signature Bridge, and Yudhister Setu. Furthermore, traffic will be restricted on Ring Road (Mahatma Gandhi Marg), Nishad Raj Marg, Boulevard Road, SPM Marg, Lothian Road, and Netaji Subhash Marg. These restrictions will take effect at 7:00 am and may continue until 3:00 pm.
Consequently, commuters should avoid these routes, particularly around the procession area. Additionally, those heading to Old Delhi Railway Station, ISBT, Red Fort, Chandni Chowk, and Tis Hazari Court are advised to allow extra time for potential delays.
Public Transport and Parking
To alleviate traffic, the advisory strongly recommends using public transport. Moreover, drivers should park only in designated areas, as roadside parking obstructs traffic flow.
If any suspicious objects or individuals are noticed, the public is urged to report them to the authorities.
