Delhi: This App Makes Shahdara’s Elderly Life Easy -Here’s How

Senior Citizens of Shahdara can now seek police help through a mobile app for any task, be it for fixing non-functional streetlights, verification of domestic help, and even health problem.

Further, the app also ensures, that officers don’t overlook their visits to the elderly within their jurisdiction.

Moreover, police can send broadcast notifications to senior citizens through the app to elderly.

As per police, this App contains feature, which enhances safety and security of senior citizens. It also has personalised questionnaire, which deals with crucial safety concerns.

‘The app has been designed by the staff of the senior citizen cell of Shahdara police. It features a personalised questionnaire designed to address key safety concerns’ revealed officer.

The App usually deals with concerns like personal safety, lighting, environment and the domestic help’s verification.

Moreover, the app also monitors installation of CCTV cameras and provides them protection against cyber threats and also checks their health.

Discussing the safety aspect, DCP of Shahdara, Surendra Choudhary, stated that the responses from senior citizens were analyzed and based on this analysis, weekly monitoring is conducted to identify and address any shortcomings.

‘If there are any lacks, we take the necessary action to improve the situation, thereby enhancing the sense of security among the senior citizens in the district’ said DCP.

Further, the beat staff also visits elderly’s residence to assess the safety measures in place.

Features Offered by the App

The App is also used as a tool for officers to look at staff’s activities like tracking personnel visits to seniors, to make sure that most recent geo-tagged images of senior citizens are posted, and ensuring, that domestic help have undergone comprehensive background checks.

Moreover, the app offers elderly individuals features such as access to educational content on cyber safety and health improvement, submission of feedback on their app experience and managing a collection of crucial emergency contacts, which include police, fire department, ambulance services, patrol officers, and the Station House Officer (SHO).

In addition, the police can utilize the app to broadcast messages to all senior citizens, enabling rapid and effective dissemination of vital information.
