A private school in Delhi has suspended four of its teachers following the death by suicide of a Class 10 student earlier this week.

The action comes amid serious allegations from the student's family, who claims the 16-year-old had been facing continuous mental harassment and frequent scolding by the teachers for nearly a year.

Teen Repeatedly Raised Distress Signals

The family said that the teenager had been repeatedly expressing distress about his treatment at school. The parents said he was being pulled up for trivial matters and that this took a toll on his emotions, leading him into a prolonged depression.

They claim they had approached the school authorities previously and no action had been taken. The boy, it is being said, had shared concerns regarding his mental health with counsellors and teachers, even reportedly telling them that he was having difficulty coping with the stress faced by him each day.

Delhi School Issued Suspension to Four Teachers

Following the incident, the school administration issued suspension letters to the four teachers who were named in the family's complaint.

The suspension letters acknowledge that an FIR registered on November 19, 2025, at Tis Hazari Court is now being investigated by the authorities. The school stated it would cooperate fully with the police to ensure the matter is examined transparently.

Police officials said the student was taken to a nearby hospital immediately after the incident, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators are now speaking to his classmates, teachers, and school counselors to determine whether repeated harassment or disciplinary actions may have contributed to the emotional burden he carried.

The boy's father said his son had been under stress for months. "My son kept telling us he was being scolded unnecessarily. We complained several times, but nothing changed. Even some of his friends were facing similar treatment," he said.
