Delhi Police launches ‘Cyber Suraksha’ campaign to tackle cybercrime

Delhi Police has launched its latest initiative to combat cybercrime with the launch of the “Cyber Suraksha” campaign. The two-month long initiative aims to provide digital literacy to 10,000 students across various schools and colleges in Delhi in partnership with Meta.

The initiative will focus on providing students with digital safety best practices, e-digital literacy awareness sessions, training resources and a knowledge repository of self-help material, safety videos, and other resources. Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Singh, Special Commissioner of Police, Perception Management & Media Cell said that the Digital Awareness is of prime importance and the need of the hour as cybercrime has become a problem world-wide. “Women and children are among the most vulnerable section, who often fall prey, due to lacking awareness about cyber safety and crimes.

The victims must report the matter as remaining silent gives an opportunity to the perpetrators to repeat similar acts. ‘Not to speak-out shall not be an option’”. Singh Said. The Delhi Police also launched a series of short films as part of its cyber awareness campaign, with the appeal “Fool Nahi-Cool Bane”. These films will convey important messages and knowledge about the prevalent cyberrelated offences, and will be disseminated through various social media platforms. The launch event was held at Adarsh Auditorium and was attended by around 300 girl students from various colleges across Delhi.
