Delhi and NCR Regions are experiencing mostly cloudy skies with the temperature holding steady at 85 degrees Fahrenheit or 30 degrees Celsius. According to the hourly forecast, temperatures are expected to rise slightly to 86–87 degrees between noon and 2 PM. The weather will remain mostly cloudy throughout the day, with a possibility of thunderstorms developing by late afternoon. By evening, skies will continue to be overcast with intermittent clouds and occasional rain. These weather conditions may impact visibility and cause road surfaces to become slippery, particularly in outer areas with drainage concerns.

Sarita Vihar Flyover Repairs (Badarpur to Ashram)

As of today, August 4, the Sarita Vihar Flyover is undergoing urgent repair work, which began last week and will continue until August 8, 2025. This route connects major regions in South Delhi, including traffic toward Noida and Faridabad. Due to lane closures and diversions, commuters are facing heavy congestion, especially during morning office hours.

Suggested Detour: Use Govindpuri Extension or Maa Anandmayee Marg to bypass the closed section.

Roshnara Road Closure for DMRC Work

Since August 1, a key section of Roshnara Road—between Burf Khana and Kunji Lassi Wala—has been closed for tunneling operations by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation near Pul Bangash metro station. This closure is part of the ongoing expansion of the metro's Phase IV project.

General Traffic Route: Divert through Lala Jagannath Marg.

DTC Bus Diversion: DTC buses are being rerouted via Dr B R Ambedkar Marg, Malka Ganj Chowk, Ramjas College, Ghanta Ghar, and Tis Hazari Park.

Janakpuri District Centre Flyover Blockage

On August 2, Public Works Department (PWD) began structural repairs on the Janakpuri District Centre Flyover, located along Shivaji Marg between Uttam Nagar and Tilak Nagar. The work is expected to continue for about a month, creating delays throughout West Delhi. Vehicles have been directed to use adjacent slip roads, which are not built to handle heavy traffic volumes.

Impact Zone: Slow movement near Shivaji Marg, Janakpuri West metro station, and Jail Road.

Partial Closure of Sector 14-A Flyover, Chilla Border

A resurfacing project is ongoing on the Delhi-Noida Link Flyover near the Chilla Border, where one of the three lanes has been closed. The work began in July and is expected to continue until October 2025. The issue is further complicated by a surge in Kanwar Yatra pilgrim traffic this week.

Peak-Hour Advisory: Try to avoid this stretch during 8–11 AM and 5–8 PM. Use the DND Flyway as an alternate route when heading toward Noida.

Construction on UER-II (Urban Extension Road-II)

The Urban Extension Road-II project near Dwarka, Najafgarh, and IGI Airport continues to cause temporary delays. As of August, workers are building an underpass and a new flyover to improve direct access between NH-8, Dwarka Expressway, Rohini, and western parts of Delhi. While there is no complete roadblock, commuters are experiencing intermittent slowdowns due to temporary barricades and shifting lanes.

Current Status: Minor delays, especially around peak flight hours near the airport.

Commuter Safety and Route Recommendations

With thunderstorms expected later in the day and multiple construction zones across the city, motorists should plan ahead and avoid major flyovers under repair. Wet roads and ongoing diversions could slow movement across both Delhi and Gurugram.

Use the Delhi Metro wherever possible, especially in high-traffic areas like Sarita Vihar, Janakpuri, and Central Delhi. Mobile apps such as MapmyIndia, Google Maps, and Waze can provide real-time congestion alerts and alternate route options.
