The political race in Delhi is heating up again as the BJP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have announced their candidates for the upcoming Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) by-elections. The voting for 12 wards will take place on November 30, with the results scheduled for December 3, according to the State Election Commission (SEC).
These bypolls are being viewed as a mini-battle before the next mayoral election, likely to set the tone for control over the civic body.
The elections will be held in wards such as Mundka, Shalimar Bagh-B, Ashok Vihar, Chandni Chowk, Dwarka-B, Dakshinpuri, and Greater Kailash. Out of the 12 seats, six are general, five are reserved for women, and one is reserved for the Scheduled Castes.
These vacancies emerged after nine BJP councillors and three AAP councillors were elected as Members of Parliament (MPs) or Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) earlier this year.
MCD Bypoll Election in Delhi will be held on 30 November.
The result for the MCD by-election in Delhi will be announced on 3 December.
