Delhi Mayor instructs to expedite cleanliness in flood affected areas

Delhi Mayor Dr. Shelly Oberoi says the flood water spread everywhere. Therefore, there is a chance that people could catch diseases including dengue, cholera, chikungunya, and malaria. So to minimise the effect of these diseases, we have instructed the sanitation department to carry out the cleanliness and sanitation drive after inspecting the hospitals.
Saurabh Bharadwaj, Minister of the Delhi government, said Medical camps have been set up and free medical treatment is being provided to those who are in camps. Two doctors, along with paramedical staff, are presently in all the camps. Doctors are receiving cases of Conjunctivitis, fungus infections, and other water-borne diseases.
In the meantime, Delhiites will not get relief from the flood soon, as the Central Water Commission (CWC) has predicted that the Yamuna water level can rise to 206.1 metres overnight. This is because the heavy downpours occurred in Haryana, and due to this, the level of the Yamuna is rising again.
On Monday At 1 pm, the water level was recorded at 205.84 metres, which was 205.58 metres at 9 am, and it reached the 205.92 mark at 4 pm on Monday. Seeing the rising water level, Delhi PWD Minister Atishi Singh urged the people not to leave the relief camps as the water level is again increasing, though she added that Rising Yamuna water is not a threat to people in Delhi.
On the other hand, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad hit out at Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. He said It is unfortunate to see that when Delhi is submerged, Arvind Kejriwal has gone to Bengaluru. People in Delhi aren’t properly getting drinking water, but Kejriwal is not even present here. It is hugely irresponsible and shameful behaviour from his side.
