The Aam Adami Party (AAP)-led Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is all set to brighten Diwali for its employees, as Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi announced a one-time Diwali bonus for them. The Mayor announced a bonus of 6,900 rupees for all Group B, C, and D employees of the MCD ahead of the festive season.
Mayor Shelly Oberoi stated that this decision will benefit all corporation employees, and the MCD will allocate 62 crores for the payment of this Diwali bonus. This decision was made following the instructions of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Diwali bonuses will be provided to non-gazetted employees in Group B, Group C, Group D, and daily wage employees who have worked for a minimum of 240 days in the last three years.
The mayor said while addressing the press, «We have to take care of the interests and well-being of our employees, and the Aam Aadmi Party has also been of the same view. The role of employees in the municipal corporation is very important. MCD employees always do the hard work. So this time, MCD will give bonuses to Group B non-gazetted, Group C, and Group D employees.
Apart from this daily wage, employees who have worked 240 days each in the last three years will receive a Rs 1184 Diwali bonus, and approximately Rs 6900 will be given as a bonus to Group B non-gazetted employees and Group C and D employees. A total of Rs 62 crore will be spent on the bonuses of all these categories of employees.
