A British lady was allegedly gang-raped by two men in a hotel based in Delhi’s Mahipalpur, the news agency ANI reported. One of the suspects, identified as Kailash, had befriended the victim on Instagram. Both the individuals have been arrested and informed the British High Commission about the incident, the Delhi Police said.
A man was taken into custody on rape charges for allegedly raping a British woman at a hotel in Mahipalpur, Delhi. His partner was arrested on molestation charges, police stated in a release.
“The woman, who had been in touch with the man through social networking sites, had come to Delhi from the UK to meet him. The British High Commission has also been intimated about the case,” authorities said.
According to police officials, Kailash, a resident of Vasundhara, Mayur Vihar, East Delhi, is in the habit of making Instagram reels. About three months ago, he exchanged messages with the woman, who is a resident of London, on the social media platform. When she came to Maharashtra and Goa, she contacted Kailash and asked him to come and meet her. But Kailash informed her that he was unable to travel and requested her to come to Delhi instead.
The woman arrived in Delhi on Tuesday night and stayed at a Mahipalpur hotel. Responding to the invitation, Kailash and his friend Wasim came to meet her at the hotel. The three of them drank and ate dinner before going to her room.
The woman was allegedly assaulted by Kailash by force, according to Amar Ujala. When she protested and made a noise, Kailash called for Wasim to the room to pacify her.
Another Shocking Incident
In another incident, an 8-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her father in Delhi’s Sadar Bazar. The case came to light when the girl’s mother lodged a complaint with the Sadar Bazar police station late on March 8, stating that her daughter had been raped. The suspect, a vegetable seller, was arrested on the same day after residents identified him and handed him over to the authorities of law and order.
