Delhi’s Health Minister, Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh, carried out a surprise inspection at Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Mangolpuri to evaluate the hospital’s overall functioning and the current state of healthcare services. His review focused on the availability of doctors, beds, emergency services, and the quality of patient care.

During his visit, the minister himself inspected the emergency ward, interacted with patients, and listened to their concerns. He also engaged with hospital staff to discuss the availability of medical equipment and resources. Additionally, he instructed the administration to strengthen emergency services, ensuring that all patients receive immediate medical attention when required. To assess the quality of medical care, he thoroughly examined the Patient Admission Register in various wards.

Dr. Singh proceeded to visit the medical wards, where he checked on admitted patients and inquired about their treatment and well-being. He encouraged the doctors and healthcare staff, stressing the importance of delivering quality medical care with empathy, dedication, and professionalism.

Highlighting the Delhi government’s priorities, Dr. Singh stated, “Our primary objective is to ensure that citizens receive top-quality healthcare services. I will continue to conduct surprise inspections to make sure that hospitals operate efficiently and provide the best possible care to patients.”

Addressing the hospital administration and staff, he emphasized the need for a compassionate and professional approach towards patients. He reassured them that the Delhi government fully supports doctors and medical staff and is actively working to resolve any shortages and challenges faced by healthcare institutions.

During the inspection, the Health Minister directed hospital authorities to enhance their emergency response systems, ensure the availability of essential medicines, and improve overall patient care standards. Additionally, he stressed the importance of maintaining hygiene and adhering to safety protocols across the hospital premises. He further instructed the hospital authorities to ensure that emergency patients are not unnecessarily referred to other hospitals and instead receive treatment on-site whenever possible.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to healthcare improvements, Dr. Singh stated, “Our mission is to provide affordable, accessible, and high-quality healthcare services to every citizen. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, we are dedicated to transforming Delhi’s healthcare infrastructure. Within the next 100 days, we will fulfill our promises made to the people of Delhi.”

The Health Minister reiterated that the government is actively addressing gaps in the healthcare system and is continuously upgrading medical facilities to ensure the highest standard of medical care for Delhi’s residents. This was not the first surprise inspection conducted by Dr. Singh. Last week, he also visited Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital in Rohini to assess its medical services and review the quality of healthcare delivery.
