A gym owner in Delhi, Sumit aka Prem Chaudhary, who was previously convicted of attempted murder and out on bail, was allegedly murdered by three to four men in Bhajanpura on Wednesday night. The police reported that the attackers are currently on the run.
Sumit, 28, lived with his wife and three-year-old son in Gamri Extension, Bhajanpura. He suffered over 15 stab wounds all over his body. Besides running a gym, Sumit also operated a tour and travel business.
On the night of July 10, around 11:30 pm, Sumit was sitting outside his house when he got into an argument with the assailants. The argument escalated, and one of the men pulled out a knife, stabbing Sumit in the face, neck, chest, and abdomen, inflicting around 17 wounds.
Sumit was rushed to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital in Shastri Park, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
A police official from Bhajanpura police station stated that the motive for the attack and the nature of the argument are still unclear. The police are scanning CCTV footage to identify and capture the suspects. Sumit had an attempted murder case registered against him at Bhajanpura police station.
