The Aam Aadmi Party government announced on Thursday an increase in Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate fees in Delhi, marking the first hike in 11 years.
The new rates for PUC certificates are Rs 80 for petrol, CNG, or LPG two and three-wheelers, and Rs 110 for petrol, CNG, or LPG four-wheelers and larger vehicles. For diesel vehicles, the pollution check fee has been set at Rs 140.
“In response to the long-pending demands of the Delhi Petrol Dealers Association and to keep up with the rising costs of pollution checking services, we have decided to revise the rates,” stated state transport minister Kailash Gahlot. He added, “We remain committed to maintaining Delhi’s air quality and ensuring that all vehicles meet the required pollution standards.”
