A fire in Bholanath Nagar, Delhi, resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left four others injured, all members of the same family, according to a senior official.
DCP Shahdara reported that the deceased appeared to have died from asphyxia. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has been dispatched to investigate the incident.
The fire broke out at house number 197, Gali number 11, around 5:50 AM on October 18. Police and fire services arrived promptly to find flames engulfing the third-floor flat belonging to Manish Gupta, son of Kailash Gupta.
The injured, identified as 72-year-old Kailash Gupta, 70-year-old Bhagwati Gupta, 45-year-old Manish Gupta, and 19-year-old Parth Gupta, were rushed to GTB Hospital for treatment.
Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze and subsequently discovered the bodies of 42-year-old Shilpi Gupta and 16-year-old Pranav Gupta inside the flat. A total of six fire tenders responded to the scene.
