After a fresh spell of heavy rain in Delhi, several areas experienced significant waterlogging on Sunday. In West Delhi’s Najafgarh area, severe waterlogging was seen on the roads, making it difficult for commuters. Meanwhile, in Rohini Sector 23, people were spotted playing and exercising in the rain as it continued to pour across the national capital.
Earlier in the day, heavy rainfall also hit Ambala city, causing waterlogging and disrupting normal life. Commuters were seen navigating through waterlogged streets. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had forecast thunderstorms and moderate rain in parts of Kurukshetra, Ambala, Yamunanagar, and Panchkula.
IMD’s Regional Centre in New Delhi also predicted moderate to heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning across several areas of Haryana, including Rajaund, Assandh, Jind, Gohana, Rohtak, Jhajjar, and Farukhnagar, as well as in parts of Rajasthan.
The IMD further noted that Haryana is expected to receive isolated heavy rainfall until August 14. Additionally, widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy downpours is anticipated in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and East Uttar Pradesh from August 10-16, and in Jammu-Kashmir, West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana-Chandigarh during various days in that period.
