The daughter-in-law and two of her friends were accused of killing an old couple in Delhi on Sunday, the police said.
The two senior citizens, who were both in their 70s, lived in Delhi’s Gokulpuri with their son, daughter-in-law, and grandchild. The murder was carried out, according to the police, with the assistance of two males, one of whom is thought to be the victim’s boyfriend.
The first floor was home to Monica, her husband, and their son, while the ground floor belonged to Radheshyam Verma, a retired vice principal from a government school.
At 7 o’clock on Sunday night, Monica is accused of leading her lover and another man to the home’s terrace, where they spent some time hiding during the night before breaking into the bedroom of the old couple and slitting their throats.
Ravi, the couple’s son, last saw his parents at 10.30 pm on Sunday, as per the police.
The bodies were sent for autopsy, and an ongoing investigation is being conducted. The search is on for Monica’s boyfriend and the other associate while she is being detained.
The deaths are thought to have been motivated by a property dispute, the police said, who also indicated that at least Rs 4 lakh in cash, which was part of an advance payment for the sale of the house, is also missing from the house.
