Delhi’s air quality deteriorated slightly on Saturday, November 1, 2025, with the city’s overall Air Quality Index reading at 251 against 218 the previous day, according to data released by the Central Pollution Control Board. The figures placed Delhi firmly in the ‘poor’ air quality category.

AQI Levels Across Delhi

The CPCB data indicated that air quality at eight monitoring stations fell in the ‘very poor’ category, while the rest of the stations reported ‘poor’ air quality. Among all, Wazirpur recorded the highest AQI at 333, according to CPCB’s Sameer app, indicating considerably polluted air in the area.

What the AQI Numbers Mean

The Air Quality Index (AQI) is a measure of pollution levels, where:

  • 0–50 indicates good air quality,

  • 51–100 is satisfactory,

  • 101–200 is moderate,

  • 201–300 is poor,

  • 301–400 is very poor, and

  • 401–500 falls into the severe category.

With an overall AQI of 251, Delhi’s air quality continues to hover in the poor range, raising concerns ahead of the winter season when pollution typically peaks.

Weather and Forecast

According to the IMD, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 19.4°C, which is 3.3 degrees above normal for this time of the year. The humidity level stood at 91% at 8:30 am, indicating high moisture in the air. The IMD has also forecast shallow fog during the day, with the maximum temperature likely to reach 31°C. The fog and stagnant wind will add to the persisting poor quality of air in the city.
