Delhi Airport, DMRC to Introduce Baggage Drop-off Service For International Travellers

To enhance the experience of international travellers, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), and Delhi International Airport (DIAL) have come together to introduce check-in services at two metro stations- New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium. This means passengers can now leave their bags at these stations, leaving them free to explore the city on Tuesday.

Through DMRC and DIAL collaboration, an advanced automated system will be developed. Which means, before roaming the city, their bags will be properly transferred to the aircraft.

Initially, introduced for domestic travel, this service will now be extended to international passengers.

This service will be operated from 7 am to 9 pm at above-mentioned metro stations after it gets implemented.

However, travelers should check in their bags 12 to 2 hours before domestic flights and 4 to 2 hours before international flights.

According to Air India chief customer experience officer Rajeev Dogra believes, that this initiative will provide two benefits-

One, it will provide cost effective option for travellers from distant place. Second, it will deal with congestion at the airport and last, it will make the journey faster and easier.
