Cyclone Remal Updates: PM Modi Chairs Meeting To Review Preparations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting to assess the response and preparedness for Cyclone Remal, which is set to make landfall tonight. The cyclone is expected to hit the region between Bangladesh and the adjoining West Bengal coasts around midnight, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

As Cyclone intensifies over the Bay of Bengal, posing a severe threat, the government has been working diligently to implement preparatory measures. Various departments and agencies have been mobilized to handle emergency response and evacuation efforts in vulnerable areas.

The IMD has issued warnings about heavy rainfall, strong winds, and potential flooding in the regions likely to be affected by Cyclone Remal. Authorities have advised residents to stay indoors and follow safety guidelines to prevent any untoward incidents.
