Cyclone Michaung: PM Modi in Contact With State Governments, Assures Assistance and Support

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a jubilant rally at the BJP headquarters in the national capital, cautioned the nation about the impending threat of ‘Cyclone Michaung’ and assured constant coordination with Eastern coastal state governments to manage relief and rescue operations.

“Amid our celebrations, the looming threat of Cyclone Michaung must not be ignored. I urge fellow countrymen to remain vigilant,” PM Modi stated during the victory rally, emphasizing the need to stay alert despite the celebratory atmosphere.

Highlighting the central government’s ongoing collaboration with state authorities, he urged BJP workers in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Odisha, and particularly Andhra Pradesh to actively engage in relief efforts and extend support to local administrations.

“Our commitment to service transcends party lines. Our nation takes precedence over everything. This is the ethos of a dedicated BJP leader,” PM Modi emphasized, calling for unified efforts toward a common goal of serving the nation.

Expressing confidence in the nation’s future, PM Modi reiterated his faith in the collective efforts and vision for progress. “Our aspiration is singular, our endeavor is united, and our dream remains one. India’s trajectory toward development and prosperity will persist,” he affirmed, expressing gratitude to voters for their trust.

In his address, PM Modi admitted to his inability to track election results due to his focus on monitoring the cyclone situation along the eastern coast.

He promptly reached out to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to review preparedness for Cyclone Michaung, ensuring full support in managing its aftermath.

Chennai witnessed heavy rainfall as the cyclone approached, prompting warnings from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting Cyclone Michaung’s landfall between Nellore and Machilipatnam on December 5, expecting wind speeds of 80–90 kmph, gusting up to 100 kmph.

PM Modi’s proactive stance and appeals for collective efforts reflect a unified approach to addressing the imminent challenges posed by Cyclone Michaung and its potential impact on the eastern coast.
