In a shocking case of child abandonment, a 15-day-old infant was found in a forest in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district on Tuesday. According to police, the baby was discovered with his mouth sealed to stop him from crying.

The baby was spotted writhing near a pile of stones close to the Sita Ka Kund temple in Mandalgarh. Shockingly, a stone was stuffed into his mouth and stuck with an adhesive, police said.

It was a cattle grazer who noticed the child. He immediately informed the locals. The baby was then rushed to a government hospital in Bijolia after the stone was removed from his mouth.

Baby Under Medical Treatment

Doctors said the infant is around 15 to 20 days old. The baby had adhesive marks not only on his mouth but also on his thighs. Police confirmed that the baby is now under treatment and is being closely monitored by doctors.

The police are investigating the case and trying to trace the people who abandoned the child. Locals have demanded strict action against those responsible.

Similar Incidents Reported

This is not the first such case of child abandonment in India. On September 4, a five-month-old baby girl was found abandoned in Chandigarh. The baby was discovered in the bushes near the BSNL turn in Industrial Area Phase 2. A taxi driver, who heard her cries, rescued her and took her to the police station.

On the same day, another infant was found dumped in a drain in Jharkhand’s Jamtara district. Locals found the baby with fractured hands in the Mijiham area. Doctors later declared the child stable.

In June, a two-day-old baby was found abandoned in a basket outside a girls’ orphanage in Panvel’s Takka area. The baby was left on the pavement with a bottle, a sachet of milk powder, and a handwritten note. The note, believed to be from the parents, said they could not raise the baby due to “mental and financial hardships.” Later, the authorities asked the couple to take the baby back.
