An encounter between security personnel and Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Sunday resulted in the death of a sub-inspector of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the injuries of a constable, according to police. According to a police official, the incident happened in the morning while a team from the CRPF’s 165th battalion was conducting an anti-Naxal operation under the jurisdiction of Jagargunda police station.
According to him, the operation started at roughly 7 a.m. from Bedre camp and headed toward Ursangal village. He said that during the operation, there was a gunfight in which constable Ramu was shot and sub-inspector Sudhakar Reddy was killed.
He said that four suspects were apprehended from the scene when the gunfire stopped, and that a combined security team was conducting a search of the vicinity. The official stated that the hurt constable was being taken to a hospital for treatment.
