Corruption has doubled in Tamil Nadu due to DMK: Piyush Goyal

Union textiles minister Piyush Goyal was in Coimbatore on October 16th to attend the padyatra by BJP state president K Annamalai at Tirupur. Speaking on the occasion, Goyal said, “After M K Stalin became the chief minister in Tamil Nadu, corruption has doubled. Now there is a son (Udhayanidhi Stalin) and son–in–law
(Sabareesan) too.”

The Union Minister also stated that law and order in the state had gone from bad to worse, and development had stopped and welfare measures have been inadequate. Goyal added, “The Congress which has been aiding the corruption of DMK should also be sent home. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a vow to end corruption in Tamil Nadu.”

He also spoke about the lack of amenities in the state and how BJP would help the people if they were elected. Goyal said, “The Prime Minister will bring a 100-bed ESI hospital here soon. If you give a chance to the BJP to serve you, then Tamil Nadu will witness numerous large projects including drinking water schemes. You need a vision to develop Tamil Nadu and to make it the number one state in the country. Only Modiji has that vision and so does Annamalai who has been touring the state for the last six months.”

Speaking about Udhayanidhi’s Sanatana Dharma comment, the Union Minister said, “They are attacking Sanatana Dharma, which inspired Mahatma Gandhi and Swami Vivekananda. Udhayanidhi wants to eradicate Sanatana Dharma. The people of Tamil Nadu will not allow it. They will give a fitting reply to Stalin, Udhayanidhi, Raja and the DMK.”

This was the third phase of Annamalai’s ‘Enn Mann Enn Makkal’ padyatra and he also addressed the public saying that Tamil Nadu had become unsafe for Hindus. The saffron party leader touched upon the temples in the state and said that 1200 ancient statues in the country have disappeared from temples between 1992 and 2017.

“From 2014 to 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has retrieved 361 statues, which also includes statues from Tamil Nadu. In 1985, the HR&CE had 5.25 lakh acres and in 2023 has shrunk to 3.25 lakh acres. In 40 years, two lakh acres of land has gone missing in the state,” he added.
