Cop Sings to Scold Rickshaw Driver
A Madhya Pradesh policeman's video has gone viral on social media, highlighting a remarkably new approach to dealing with traffic offenders.
While reprimanding an e-rickshaw driver in the viral video, policeman Bhagwat Prasad Pandey neither threatens him with severity nor issues strict warnings, but rather sings, which has gained immense admiration on the Internet.
Pandey brought the e-rickshaw to a halt after seeing it running on the road with unsuitable windshield glass, and instead of issuing a routine reprimand, sang. Borrowing the melody and words of "Humko Sirf Tumse Pyar Hai," he playfully pointed out that the driver had been warned several times before.
Take a look:
"Chacha, sheesha kyun nahi laga? Chacha, sheesha kyun nahi laga? Ek mah mein, teen baar hum, tumko ye bata chuke hain chacha sun lo tum," sang the officer, making the driver smile nervously. The man had been driving his car with nothing but a transparent plastic sheet for a windshield.
The funny clip was uploaded on Bhagwat Prasad Pandey's Instagram handle, which has a following of over 3.7 lakh. It soon gained over 8 lakh views and was shared extensively on all other social media platforms.
In a subsequent video, Pandey added humor by draping a garland around the driver's neck, mockingly saluting him for his 'innovative' repair.
Watch:
Describing the case, he said, "This fellow has not been able to travel to Gwalior to procure the glass. Gwalior is 120 km from here." Talking to the audience, he advised, "He has not been able to procure windshield glass, so he is attempting to use a plastic sheet. I request you all not to fall into such plastic sheet tricks. On rainy days, it becomes hard to drive.
Social media folk were left impressed by Pandey's creative mode of policing and even appreciated his singing ability. "You and your attitude need to be taught in police training colleges pan India," someone wrote. Another watcher chimed in, "This was the nicest thing I saw on my timeline today which was full of folks bickering over gender, language and whatnot."
