CONGRESS TRYING TO DO POLITICS OVER CONSECRATION CEREMONY AT AYODHYA: BJP

The ruling BJP has Thursday slammed Congress for declining the invitation to attend the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on January 22.
BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli slammed the grand old party for declining the invitation to attend the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya and questioned the Congress for trying to do politics over the grand event in the holy city.

“If they don’t wish to be there, then why drag the RSS and the BJP, and why are they trying to do politics over Lord Ram Temple’s consecration?” lashed out at the BJP leader.
Kohli said, “It is for the Congress party’s top leadership to decide whether they would like to be present on January 22 for the consecration of Lord Ram and the grand temple opening in Ayodhya.”

The BJP spokesperson also criticised Congress for denying the very existence of Lord Ram. “It should come as no surprise because the Congress party when in government, had denied the very existence of Lord Ram in an affidavit that they filed before the honourable Supreme Court,” he said.

Kohli took on Congress for blaming the BJP and the RSS and for dragging them over their refusal to attend the “Pran Pratishtha” of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22.
“However, what one notes is that they are trying to blame the BJP and the RSS. If they don’t wish to be there, then why drag the RSS and the BJP, and why are they trying to do politics over Lord Ram Temple’s consecration?” added Kohli.

“Secondly, one sees that within the Congress party, different leaders in the states are saying they wish to be there for the pran pratishtha ceremony,” he said.
“This perhaps reflects the internal situation in the Congress party and the different views that exist about Lord Ram’s temple in Ayodhya,” said the BJP leader.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on Thursday also came down heavily on Congress, saying that the top brass of the grand old party has declined the invitation to attend the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya only for the “sake of appeasement.”
Pralhad Joshi said that the Congress Party has reached the ‘heights of appeasement’.

Reacting to the issue, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the ‘Pran Pratistha’ ceremony of Lord Ram is a matter of joy for the whole nation.

“It is very unfortunate, painful and shameful… They had always opposed Ram Janmabhoomi… The Congress Party had ruled the country, yet where has it reduced itself to today? It will be wiped out in future elections as well. Is this a programme of the Sangh? This is a programme of the nation; the whole world is waiting for it,” Prasad said on Thursday.

BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi, addressing a press conference, said that Congress only boycotts everything, whether it is the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony of Ram Temple or the Bharat Ratna ceremony of former President Pranab Mukherjee.

“Congress boycotted the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament building.

Congress boycotted G20 Summit…From 2004 till 2009, Congress boycotted Kargil Vijay Diwas. Congress did not give any statement for 10 days after the Pokhran nuclear test conducted in May 1998 under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government. Congress had also boycotted the Bharat Ratna ceremony of former President Pranab Mukherjee, who belonged to their party. The public is also boycotting them from power,” Trivedi said.

In the meantime, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday said that Congress hurt the sentiments of the majority population of the country by declining the invitation of the ‘Pran Pratistha’ ceremony.

The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister said that the grand old party should apologise.
Yadav said, “This is very unfortunate. First, Congress created obstacles (to the construction) for the Ram Temple. Now they are insulting the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony. In a way, it has hurt the sentiments of the majority of the population of the country. Congress should apologise.”

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that declining the invitation has proven that Congress is against Lord Ram.

“The invitation was not sent by the government or the BJP. It was sent by the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Declining the invitation has only proved again that they are against Lord Ram. They had already called Lord Ram a fictional character,” Maurya said.

Meanwhile, the secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, Teerth Kshetra Champat Rai, said, “We have sent invitations to many people, but many invited people are not coming. Everyone has to see many issues.”

Union Minister Giriraj Singh claimed that the grand old party does not have the “moral strength” to go to Ayodhya.

“These people are seasonal Hindus; when they feel they have to get votes, they try to become soft Hindus,” Giriraj Singh said. He further asserted that since Jawaharlal Nehru, no one in the Congress has gone to Ayodhya.

“It was the Congress party itself that had done the work of pending the case in the court; hence they do not have the moral strength to go to Ayodhya,” he added.
