New Delhi, June 23: Congress is planning a massive organisational reshuffling in the coming days, which is said to be the last major change under party President Mallikarjun Kharge, as he along with Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has spoken to general secretaries, secretaries, state presidents and many others.

Congress insiders claimed that the party is more focused on the fixing the accountability of the leaders, who were given the post in the last few years.

The exercise of evaluating the performance of party secretaries began on June 8, when Kharge and Rahul Gandhi spoke with them one to one, state wise.

The party insider claimed that Kharge and Rahul Gandhi sat with the evaluation sheet with color coding, which had multiple parameters from dark green, light green, dark blue, light blue and red code, beginning from excellent to very poor.

The source said that the evaluation sheet was prepared with the inputs from the state incharges and state unit chiefs.

The source pointed out many secretaries including Sushil Pasi, Chetan Chauhan, Sanjay Dutt, Vidit Chaudhary were among the people in red zone.

Even Rahul Gandhi asked these leaders that how there name was in the red code with adverse comments by incharges and state unit heads.

This exercise went for multiple days, the source said.

Even secretary BN Sandeep was asked by Rahul Gandhi about his role, for whom Kharge said that he has worked hard and has been associated with him in the past and he has seen his work in Karnataka.

There were many leaders, whose work was appreciated by the leadership.

The Jammu and Kashmir internal fighting between the present state unit chief Tariq Ahmed Karra and his predecessor Waqar Rasool Wani was also discussed, which has been going on for past several months.

The source said that party general secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal had earlier warned both the leaders not to make any adverse statements among themselves and also warned of disciplinary action if the things didn’t end.

The source said that the complaints against most of the secretaries ranged from allotting tenders to their near ones, use of same vehicle for multiple days during their visit and grand stay at hotels among others including ticket allocation to favour someone.

The source said that the Congress leadership can share the list of reshuffling in coming days.

The announcement can be made state wise, instead of a major reshuffling with an eye to the states where the elections are due later next year, the source said.
