Even as the power tussle in Karnataka has been going on for months, state minister KH Muniyappa on Tuesday said that all the discussions will come to an end by month of May.

Muniyappa, who is the Minister for Food and Civil Supplies in Karnataka, after meeting national leaders in Delhi, said that the party high command may take a decision on the Chief Minister’s post by the end of May.

Speaking to The Sunday Guardian after meeting Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and All India Congress Committee General Secretary Organisation K.C. Venugopal on the Chief Ministerial post, Muniyappa said that after the results of the elections in May all things will be settled by month end.

He said that the state government is doing well as it has been fulfilling all tbe gurantees made to people.

He said that issue is whether they (leadership) have decided or not and we don’t know that whether any understanding was made for two and half years or for change.

“We don’t know if this (two and half year formula) was made or not, Siddaramaiah (Chief Minister) is doing a very good work. But whatever the understandings are there we don’t know. I have also requested the high command to settle this matter as earlier as possible and byend of this month this will be settled,” Muniyappa added.

On Monday night, Karnataka Satish Jarkiholi also met Kharge at his residence.

The fresh power tussle in Karnataka came to the fore once again following the conclusion of voting in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Assam.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar had camped in the national capital last week for three days.

Even former Karnataka Minister and Congress MLA KN Rajanna has stated that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is ready to step down if Rahul Gandhi says so.

Spurces said that Jarkiholi has urged the party high command to resolve the leadership issue at the earliest.

It can be noted that Minister Jarkiholi is a close associate of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Some leaders in Karnataka also said that Shivakumar may be given his birthday gift on May 15.
