Congress: Haryana BJP Has Lost Majority; As 3 MLA’s Withdraw Support

The political landscape in Haryana is shifting as several Independent MLAs have withdrawn their support from the Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini-led government, dealing a blow to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). With three Independent MLAs withdrawing support, the BJP is now in the minority in the Haryana government.

Independent MLAs Sombir Sangwan, Randhir Gollen, and Dharampal Gonder have announced their decision to extend support to the Congress during the elections. They cited concerns about unemployment and inflation as reasons for withdrawing support from the BJP government.

Dharam Pal Gondher expressed disappointment with the current government’s performance, particularly regarding farmer welfare, prompting their withdrawal of support.

Randhir Golan highlighted the rising unemployment and inflation rates during the BJP’s tenure as reasons for withdrawing support from the government.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini responded to the reports, suggesting that Congress may be trying to fulfil certain individuals’ wishes. He downplayed the impact of the withdrawal of support on the government’s stability.

The BJP government in Haryana, led by Nayab Saini, previously had the support of seven Independent MLAs, along with other allies. However, with three Independents withdrawing support, the BJP-led coalition falls short of the majority mark in the Assembly.

Former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar clarified that the decision to replace him with Nayab Singh Saini was not abrupt and had been suggested to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over a year ago.

The Congress party sees the withdrawal of support from the Independent MLAs as a sign that the BJP government in Haryana has lost its majority, indicating a potential change in the state’s political dynamics.
