In Chhattisgarh, which is set to hold elections on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticised the Bhupesh Baghel government, stating that “development and Congress cannot exist together” and that the BJP’s goal is to uphold the rights of tribal people and other underprivileged groups as well as the state’s identity.
Addressing a rally here, PM Modi accused the Congress government in the state of “corruption” and alleged that its leaders had worked for their own benefit.
“The people of the state and BJP worked together for the formation of Chhattisgarh…Till the time the Congress government ruled they kept fighting with the BJP government here. But we still worked for the development of the state…This election is not just to elect an MLA, or Chief Minister, but it is an election to decide your and your children’s future,” he said.
PM Modi stated that Kanker demonstrates the strong support the BJP has. “The goal of the BJP is to make Chhattisgarh more distinct. The protection of tribal and backward people’s rights is the goal of the BJP. BJP wants to elevate Chhattisgarh to the status of one of the nation’s top states. Development and Congress cannot coexist,” declared the prime minister.
